A refined Sydney jazz ensemble with a deep understanding of event flow, The Uprights bring a sound that settles a room, lifts the atmosphere, and gives every moment the right shape.

Each member of The Uprights brings years of professional experience, with training across institutions including the Sydney Conservatorium and the Australian Institute of Music. Their foundation in jazz and contemporary repertoire gives them range without losing clarity: gentle ceremony music, relaxed cocktail sets, sophisticated dinner ambience, or a more upbeat performance as the night opens.

Recent performances include weddings and events at the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Town Hall and ICC Sydney, with recent clients including Hermès, Harvey Norman and CHP.

The core trio delivers a warm, complete sound. For larger rooms or events that need another layer of presence, the lineup can expand with saxophone or vocals, creating a quartet or quintet with more colour, movement and lift.
